July of Code 2025 is a global online hackathon for developers, creators, and open-source contributors passionate about building with Cardano. Participants are invited to create innovative projects across multiple challenge tracks, from technical builds to creative storytelling, with opportunities to win prizes and gain exposure. While the main track focuses on combining Hyperledger FireFly with Cardano, the event now includes broader challenges, including open-source software, research, creative media, and student participation.
Yes, the hackathon is virtual and entirely online. Check out the timeline for key dates for the hackathon.
The main hackathon track focuses on building applications that that leverage both Cardano and Hyperledger FireFly.

The College Track, sponsored by Rare Evo, is a special category at July of Code 2025 designed exclusively for students. It includes three distinct challenges: Technical, Non-Technical, Participation.
Students can enter one, two, or all three categories. Prizes are awarded separately for each. A valid .edu email is required to qualify.
Projects should demonstrate a compelling use case for Cardano running on Hyperledger FireFly. While specific ideas aren't provided, consider applications that benefit from the unique features of both technologies, such as secure data exchange, tokenization, or decentralized workflows.
There are no restrictions on the tech stack, so feel free to use any languages, frameworks, or tools that best suit your solution.
Submission details are provided once the submission period opens. The process will involve submitting your code repository (e.g., GitHub), a demo video, and a brief project description through a designated platform.
All entries must be submitted by August 7, 2025.
